Written in the year (2018) of the marriage equality debate in Australia, sensing the need to express truth at a time when it appeared that everyone else in the country was having a say on whether it was ok for same sex couples to marry, and were seriously galvanised in the debate, very distinctly on either one ‘side’ or the other. To write this article was very liberating in a moment of history that was causing much reduction and oppression to the LGBTIQ community relationships.
I learnt to trust these impulses and know that they were my truth, and years later even through the torture and upheaval of ‘coming out’ I never doubted these innermost feelings.
